Vietnam: PM requests further eliminatation of unnecessary procedures

The Hanoitimes – At the teleconference on “Promotion of the national single window and ASEAN single window and trade facilitation” in Hanoi on July 24, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc focused on unnecessary procedures in Vietnam`s business climate.
PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized that the issuance of standards and criteria must be transparent and open and requests to eliminate unnecessary procedures to improve productivity, the government portal reported.

In addition to trade facilitation, it is necessary to control and prevent trade frauds, smuggling and protect people’s health, including export and import goods, PM Phuc said.

The PM asked all levels and sectors to keep paying attention to pillars in reform and overcome obstacles raised by delegates at the teleconference.

All agencies must join hand to improve the business and investment environment and the national competitive capacity as well as support sustainable development, he said.

Besides, the PM required reducing shipments subject to specialized inspection to below 15% but still meeting demand of the State management agencies and ensuring people’s health.

At the mean time, PM Phuc demanded agencies simplify and eliminate 50% of goods, products and procedures subject to specialized inspection.

Ministries and branches are requested to continue to review legal documents on specialized management, compare them with the objectives and tasks set forth in the government’s resolutions and the above-mentioned action plan for amendment and supplementation, he said.

Vietnam must be a good country to carry out international commitments. When enterprises and tourists come to Vietnam, they will feel the most convenient and comfortable environment, PM Phuc stressed.
