Besides, in October, Vietnam has 1,329 enterprises back into operation, reducing 31.7% compared to last month. In overall for the first 10 months of 2017, Vietnam has 105,125 newly established enterprises with total registered capital of more than 1 trillion VND, up 14.6% in terms of quantity and 43.8% with regard to registered capital compared to the same period of last year; the average registered capital of an enterprise is 9.7 billion VND; up 25.5%. If this number is included 1,414.5 trillion VND from more than 29.500 enterprises adjusting capital, the total registered capital added to the economy in 10 months of 2017 will be more than 2,436 trillion VND. 

In addition, there are more than 22,765 enterprises back into operation, up 1.2% compared to the same period of last year, resulting in the total newly established enterprises and enterprises back into operation in 10 months to be nearly 128,000 enterprises. The total number of registered employees of newly established enterprises in 10 months is 976,400 people, reducing 8% compared to the same period of last year. 

However, in October, there are 4,043 enterprises suspended operation (including 2,550 enterprises temporarily suspended business activities, and 1,493 enterprises waiting to be dissolved and bankrupt), reducing 9%; and 1058 enterprises completing the process of dissolvent, up 7.7%. 

In overall the number of enterprises completing the process of dissolvent in 10 months of 2017 is 9,794 enterprises, up 5.4% compared to the same period of last year. However, in which included 8,979 enterprises with registered capital under 10 billion VND, contributing to 91.7%. 

The number of enterprises suspending operation in 10 months are 52,782 enterprises, up 4.1% compared to the same period of last year, including 19,619 enterprises temporarily suspended business activities, up 11.6% and 33,163 enterprises waiting to be dissolved and bankrupt), up 0.1%. 

As an economic member of the Asian Pacific Economic Corporation (APEC), Vietnamese enterprises can take advantage of APEC supporting programs for development, especially for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). According to statistics, MSMEs contribute to 97% of the total enterprises in APEC, 60% of GDP and creating 50% jobs among economic members. As such, supporting enterprises is one of the 3 cooperative pillars of APEC. Therefore, MSMEs are significant contributors of economic growth, trade, employment poverty alleviation and innovation, and their internationalization is key to realizing inclusive growth and development for not only Vietnam but also of the APEC region.
