Vietnam footwear manufacturer opens first store in Cambodia
Binh Tien Imex Corp, Pte, Ltd (Biti’s), one of the leading footwear manufacturers in Vietnam, has opened its first store in Cambodia.
Biti’s first Cambodia outlet is located in the downtown area of Phnom Penh.
The opening marks the launch of the company’s Cambodian subsidiary, known as Biti’s Cambodia, according to Vietnamese media outlets.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh, Sam Sereirath, under-secretary of state at the Ministry of Commerce, and Tran Kim Hanh, vice director of Biti’s Cambodia.
Quoted in an article by Vietnam News Agency, Mr Sereirath thanked Biti’s for investing in Cambodia and said the company will find many opportunities here, with Cambodia’s economy growing fast.
Cambodia’s GDP is expanding at an average rate of 7 percent a year, making the Kingdom one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia.
Mr Hanh told VNA that Biti’s high-quality products will make them competitive in the local market. He said the company has plans to expand its operations in Cambodia, with more outlets planned for Phnom Penh.
First established in 1982, Biti’s experienced phenomenal growth to become a leader in the Vietnamese market. It now produces 20 million pairs of shoes and sandals a year that are sold locally and abroad, including Italy, the United States, and Russia.
Biti’s also partners with leading international brands like Skechers, Decathlon, and Speedo.
