Philippines: International Travel Trade Expo opens Feb 9

MANILA, Philippines — Local travel agencies will again have the capacity to expand their network and offer more services to the public as the 3rd International Travel Trade Expo (iTTE) opens on Feb. 9 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The business-to-business (B2B) component of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association’s (PTAA) annual Travel Tour Expo (TTE), the event will feature more than 80 sellers from 16 countries that will hold one-on-one meetings with 250 travel agency buyers from across the country.

iTTE chairperson and PTAA president Marlene Dado Jante said the iTTE would be able to generate more partnerships for travel agencies while creating a new path for marketing the Philippines as a prime tourism destination.

“The iTTE will create a wider network as travel agencies will be able to find new suppliers and new destinations to offer to their respective clients.  They no longer have to go abroad to find new partners.  We are bringing it to them here in the country,” Jante said.

She added: “Through the iTTE, we expect travel agencies to be able to offer a more varied set of travel packages at very reasonable costs for our countrymen.”

Among the countries participating are Australia, Cambodia, China, Egypt, France, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United States, and Vietnam.

Travel agencies in the country that will hold B2B meetings stretch from Batanes in the north and Zamboanga in the south.  Coming in with the biggest delegation are travel agencies from Metro Manila, Pampanga, Rizal, Cebu, and Davao.
