Myanmar, Vietnam trade hit over USD360 million in five months
YANGON (Xinhua) – Bilateral trade between Myanmar and Vietnam has reached over USD362 million in five months of the six-month transitional period from April to September this year, according to the figures from the Commerce Ministry yesterday.
Myanmar has changed its fiscal year period from original April-March to October-September beginning 2018-2019, producing a six-month transitional gap.
From April to August, the country’s export to Vietnam amounted USD119.8 million while its import shared USD242.3 million.
The total trade increased by USD40.5 million compared with the same period of financial year (FY) 2017-2018 when it showed USD321 million.
The country’s trade with Vietnam totalled over USD714.8 million in FY 2017-2018.
Myanmar mainly exports mineral, agricultural, forest and marine products to Vietnam, and imports car parts, computer parts, construction materials, steel, pharmaceuticals and chemical products.
