Malaysia: Malaysia ranks 28th globally in consumer confidence
Tuesday, 2 August 2016 – Malaysian consumer confidence gained momentum in the second quarter (Q2), climbing eight spots to make the country the 28th most confident globally, according to a Nielsen poll spanning 63 countries.
The latest Nielsen Global Survey of Consumer Confidence and Spending Intentions found that Malaysian consumer confidence, whose index score hovered at the 78-80 level in the preceding three quarters, shot up eight points to 87 in Q2.
This was slightly lower than the score of 89 achieved a year ago, which was itself a far cry from the years 2010 to 2013 when consumer confidence in the country had consistently stayed above the 100 mark. Read More?
