Malaysia: Bank Negara on the alert

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara is closely monitoring conditions in the financial markets, in light of the recent developments surrounding the country’s political landscape.

“While ringgit movements will continue to be market-determined, Bank Negara’s market operations will ensure sufficient liquidity and orderly financial market conditions, ” it said in a statement here yesterday.

At 5 pm the ringgit was traded at 4.2230/2270 as against the US dollar. — Bernama
