Lao, Thai Friendship ODOP and OTOP Trade Fair Held
(KPL) Over 300 booths of the ODOP and OTOP products are on display and sale at the ongoing 4th ODOP Friendship Trade Fair between Laos and Thailand’s Nongkhai Province, which was officially started at the Lao-ITECC (old building) in Vientiane Capital on March 22.
“The Laos’ One District One Product (ODOP) and Thailand’s One Tambon One Product(OTOP) trade fair aims to enhance the existing cooperation and extend bilateral trade and investment promotion between Laos and Thailand,” the Head of Vientiane Industry and Commerce Department, Mr Berline Phetchantharath said.
The festival also aims to improve the quality of the ODOP and OTOP and raise the reputation of Laos’s ODOP, said Mr Berline.
This five-day trade fair is to provide an opportunity for the entrepreneurs of ODOP and OTOP to share knowledge and experiences and also promote ODOP and OTOP markets between Laos and Thailand.
The majority of products are silk, cotton, cosmetics, woodcarvings and non-timber forest products, handicrafts, artisans food, and consumer goods, among others.
The first friendship trade fair between Laos and Thailand was held in Vientiane Capital 2014, and it has been held annually since.
