Kingsmen launches Cambodia office
Kingsmen CMTI Plc, a Thai provider of design and construction services for retail and corporate interiors, will inaugurate its first office in Cambodia next month, according to a company representative.
Nontwaris Jatepiyawat, director of Kingsmen in Cambodia, told Khmer Times the company has been operating in the kingdom since February, but that the official ceremony to commemorate the start of activities in the country will be held on May 25.
He said Cambodia is one of the most promising markets in the region, and that opportunities in the construction sector are numerous given the large amount of real estate projects approved every year.
The events industry, a sector in which the company is also involved, holds similar potential, Mr Jatepiyawat said.
“We provide a one-stop solution for design and construction services, as well as event management.
“From conceptualisation to research, design, production and construction, we have the skills to be involved in virtually every step of the process,” he said, adding that the company is now looking for a local partner and suppliers.
Tang Sochet Vitou, vice president of Cambodia Society of Architects, said every new entrant into the market represents a challenge and an opportunity.
“The challenge is that we can potentially lose customers to the new player. On the other hand, more competition means more exchange of knowledge and ideas, which helps improve the services provided by our architects and interior designers,” he said.
“Fortunately, we have policies in place to protect the local talent from poaching by big international companies.”
Kingsmen CMTI WAS founded in Thailand in 1989. The company listed in Thailand’s stock market in 2015.
