Indonesia: Export Declines, Trade Balance Remains in Surplus

MONDAY, 15 AUGUST, 2016 – July 2016 trade balance recorded a US$ 598.3 million surplus. The number was lower compared to the US$900.2 million surplus recorded in June 2016. Cumulatively, the trade balance has recorded a total of US$4.17 billion surplus during the January 2016 to July 2016 period.

The Central Statistics Agency recorded that Indonesia?s export value in July 2016 had reached US$9.51 billion, while the country’s import value was recorded at US$8.92 billion. “Our export and import values are declining, but it is still in the surplus,” said Suryamin, Chief of the Central Statistics Agency in a press release on Monday, August 15, 2016.?Read More?
