BI expects consumer prices to rise 0.6% this month
FRIDAY, 17 JUNE 2016 – Bank Indonesia (BI) forecast monthly inflation of 0.6 percent in June on the back of increasing prices of basic commodities during Ramadhan.
BI’s inflation assessment division head Rizki E. Wimanda said inflation was driven by rising prices of staple food, especially beef, eggs and cooking oil. Rizki said the central bank would coordinate with regional inflation controlling teams to stabilize basic commodity prices.
