Indonesia: Gov’t Focuses on Improving 6 Ease of Doing Business Indicators

TEMPO.COJakarta – The Indonesian Government is set to improve six indicators ease-of-doing-business indicators that are slightly underperforming.

The indicators, ranked outside of the top 100, include starting a business (144), dealing with construction permits (108), registering property (106), enforcing contracts (145), paying taxes (114), and trading across borders (112).

“We will focus on the underperforming indicators,” said Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution on Monday, January 15. “This way, we can ensure that we can achieve a meaningful improvement this year.”

Darmin explained that the underperforming indicators essentially need to be fixed so that Indonesia can improve its position to 40th.
