Indonesia: 32 Elevated Construction Projects to be Evaluated Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Construction Safety Commission (KKK) will evaluate 32 of 36 elevated construction projects from today to tomorrow.

The other four projects have already been evaluated at the end of last week with the result of one project, namely Bogor Rong Road (BORR Toll Road) can be continued, while the three project decisions will be delivered today.

The three projects which had been final-evaluated by the committee are the Velodrom-Kelapa Gading light rail transit (LRT) project done by PT Wijaya Karya Tbk., LRT Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Bekasi done by PT Adhi Karya Tbk and Pemalang-Batang Toll Road done by PT Pemalang Batang Toll Road.

On Tuesday, February 20, the government decided to temporarily suspend the construction as a follow up to the accident on the Becakayu Toll road project (Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu).

Then, on Thursday, February 22, the government officially declared the temporary suspension of the 32 toll road projects and four railway projects. These projects can only be resumed after a series of evaluations.

If the entity during the evaluation is considered to have complied with the provisions stipulated by the KKK, the permission to continue can be immediately restarted.
