Myanmar Extends Stay-at-Home Order Two More Weeks
The Ministry of Health and Sports issued an order extending the Stay-at-Home order two more weeks prohibiting employees working for CMP business. The order will remain effective until October 21 from October 8.
The Ministry, as it is fighting and preventing the Covid-19, issued the stay-at-home order on September 20 requiring all the residents in Yangon Region except Coco Island.
“More confirmed cases are reported in Yangon Region and the silent carriers, who are working and commuting normally, can increase the spread of the Covid-19. Therefore, all the employees working for the CMP companies,” the Ministry’s order said. Anyone who fails to follow the order will face legal actions.
As of October 6, there are over 20,033 confirmed cases with 471 deaths and 5,721 recovered.
Mr.Shri Harsh V Shringla, Foreign Secretary of India, promised during the foreign ministerial conference held online on October 1 saying that India will not only provide Myanmar technology and medicines to fight the COVID-1 but also help produce the vaccine.
