Cambodia: Customs collection up 10.4 percent

Revenue in the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) reached $1.9 billion last year, an increase of 10.4 percent compared to 2016.

“We collected 104.5 percent of our goal,” said Kun Nhem, director general of GDCE.

Mr Nhem said the key achievements for his department in 2017 have been strengthening the technical compliance of customs and customs procedures and preventing and cracking down on tax evasion.

He also said that there have been significant improvements in trade facilitation, international cooperation, human resources development, and consultation with the private sector.
