Cambodia’s total exports exceed $13 billion in first three quarters

The total exports of Cambodia remain strong despite the global economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The country’s total exports in the first nine months of this year were valued at $13.2 billion, up 19 percent compared to the same period last year, according to a report from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The main markets of Cambodian products are the European Union, the U.S., Japan, Thailand, China, and Vietnam.

From January to September this year, Cambodia exported $4.828 billion worth of products to the U.S., a year-on-year increase of 22 percent.

Meanwhile, some $1.208 billion Cambodian products were exported to Japan, a decline of 5.6 percent from the figures in the first three quarters of 2019.

Exports to Thailand were valued at $958 million, sliding down 48 percent during the same period.

Last year, the Kingdom exported $14.53 billion worth of products, a year-on-year increase of 12.7 percent. Chea Vannak – AKP
