Oil and Gas Imports Fall: Ministry
Oil and Gas Imports Fall: Ministry
FRIDAY, 17 JUNE 2016 – The Kingdom’s petroleum and gas imports fell in the first quarter of this year due to waning consumer and business demands, according to the Ministry of Commerce. However, a large petroleum, lubricants and oil importer said the fall in gas imports was just relative and it was currently enjoying an increase in sales volume due to falling global prices.
The ministry’s figures revealed that at the end of this March, a total of some 302,776 tons of petroleum was imported compared to 434,288 tons in the same period last year, resulting in a 30 percent fall in imports.
