Cambodia: 20,000 tonnes of yellow bananas exported in first five months
During the first five months of 2020, Cambodia exported 22,762 tonnes of yellow bananas, wherein 14,414 tonnes to Vietnam and 8,348 others to China.
The update was provided by Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries when inspecting the progress of agro-industrial crop development of Long Sreng International Co., Ltd. recently in Kampong Cham province.
Oknha Heng Long, Chairman of Long Sreng International Co., Ltd. continued the update that his company is planting banana and other fruits at Boeung Ket Leu village, Prek Kak commune of Stung Trang district.
The banana is grown on 1,000 hectares of land surface, pomelo on 78 hectares, longan on 240 hectares, durian on 145 hectares, and jackfruit on 125 hectare, continued Oknha Heng Long, adding that each farm is equipped with high standard techniques.
Long Sreng International Co., Ltd is one of the 10 local companies licensed for exports of yellow bananas to China and beyond.
Beside the cultivation of fruits, the firm also runs organic fertiliser manufacturing capable to produce 150 tonnes of fertiliser a day. Lim Nary/AKP
