Brunei Placed 5th in Unemployment Rate with 6.7 Percent

A total of 12,934 job seekers had registered under the Employment Center Brunei (Brunei Jobcentre -JCB).

Fraction of the total, 2,362 are those who graduated with a Degree and above, HND 1,212, 3,661 Vocational and Technical, 468 for Pre-University and 5,231 people for High school qualification and below.

Senior Planning Advisor at the center, Ilyasuriani Hajah Dayang binti Dato Paduka Hj Hamdani explain this in a briefing held at the Sungai Kebun Sports Complex.

Hajah Ilyasuriani stated in her briefing that statistics of unemployed age up to March 2016 is three percent (305) of 50-59 years old, 11.4 percent (1,143) of 40-49 years, 26 percent (2,626) of 30-39 years and 59.6 per cent (5,999) for those aged 18-29 years.

Brunei is placed 5th position in comparison with the Asia Pacific countries with an unemployment rate of 6.7 percent.

JCB will also organize training sessions Job Interview Procedure to potential job seekers for on how to improve their interview skills.
