Brunei: Proposed federation to serve as ?one voice? for Brunei businesses
MONDAY, AUGUST 15, 2016 – THE proposed Federation of Brunei Darussalam Businesses is expected to unite and serve as ?one voice? for Bruneian businesses.
According to Dr Hj Kamaruddin Dato Seri Paduka Hj Talib, president of the Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the proposal to create the new organisation has already been submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and is awaiting approval.
He said this organisation can represent local businesses in international conferences and workshops and can meet up visiting trade delegations For example, if a Russian delegation comes here, instead of the local Chinese or Pakistani business associations individually meeting them, ?we can have just one voice and one representative body to meet them.
Dr Hj Kamaruddin, who is also the chairman of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the federation aims to promote inclusivity.
?(The idea is) it doesn?t matter what religion or race you belong to. If we can collectively help (grow) Brunei?s GDP, it is good enough. We need to work together,? he said.?Read More?
