Brunei: LBD Forum and Workshop to focus on creating new demand, producing better results

ASIA Inc Forum and its major partner Baiduri Bank will convene the 2017 Brunei Local Business Development (LBD) Programme at the Radisson Hotel with an LBD Forum on Finding Opportunity in Challenging Times on September 27 and an LBD Workshop on Lean Startup Principles on September 28.

According to a press release, the LBD Forum on day one is open to about 150 local business owners and managers, corporate executives and professionals, and aims to help them get better results for their businesses or departments.

The LBD Forum will feature highly-knowledgeable speakers from abroad who will be joined by Bruneian figures, some of whom will be making rare appearances onstage. The sessions are designed to stimulate creative thinking toward business prospects and difficulties, which will be complemented by inspiring real-life experiences and lessons. Creating uncontested market space, capturing more loyal customers, successfully taking an idea to reality, and what it takes to survive dark periods in business are some of the discussions which delegates can expect.

The highly-interactive LBD Workshop on day two will teach how to develop better offerings, test new ideas (even without a need for the extra budget), respond faster to signals from their markets, and provide better value for themselves and those they serve. To maximise learning and interaction, the workshop will accommodate only up to 40 delegates.

The LBD Workshop will be facilitated by a top Lean Principles coach from Southeast Asia who has mentored and scaled over 1,000 startups and large corporations in the region. Modules will go deep into proven Lean Startup Principles used by once-small disruptive enterprises who have become remarkably successful (think Uber and Airbnb for example) – methods embraced by today’s global industry leaders like GE, Qualcomm and Intuit.p16-1_20170714

“This year’s LBD Programme is a product of collective feedback from previous years. The agenda and format of discussions are developed with the objective of helping local businesses achieve the results they seek,” says Andrew Dy, GM Regional Programs of Asia Inc Forum.

Asia Inc Forum’s LBD Programme, now in its 11th year, is a platform for high-quality learning, sharing, and relationship-building, in support of the government’s local business development and economic diversification strategies.

The LBD Programme is supported by Borneo Bulletin as Media Partner and MMW as Creative Partner.
