Brunei: Digital banking made easy
Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) launched their Go Digital! campaign yesterday to encourage Bruneians to adopt digital banking in their daily lives to play their part in contributing to a more sustainable nation.
BIBD’s Deputy Managing Director Irwan bin Haji Lamit said, “There is no doubt that digital banking contributes to greater efficiency, accessibility and convenience for our customers.
“BIBD’s latest Go Digital! campaign aims to raise awareness on the advantages of digital banking, but also on the positive environmental impacts of going digital, and how it contributes to the nation’s wider sustainability agenda.
“Digital banking reduces our overall carbon footprint by using less paper which, in turn, saves trees. Customers no longer need to visit a branch for their banking needs, which reduces overall carbon emissions.”
He added, “Alhamdulillah, we have seen a growing awareness around sustainability. With this campaign, we want to highlight that big impact can start with small changes – going digital is good not just for the customer, but for the overall environment.”
With the global movement and increasing awareness on sustainable living, BIBD is committed to be a catalyst of change by being a sustainable business that actively works to make the world a better place through the Bank’s Sustainability Framework. The campaign, with the theme ‘Together We Grow Sustainably’ is part of efforts under the BIBD Sustainability Framework’s pillar of encouraging responsible entrepreneurship by adopting digital banking.
BIBD also aims to amplify the advantages of digital banking in terms of increasing accessibility of banking services, enhancing security of transactions and bringing added convenience to the public as well as highlighting the positive environmental impact of digital banking.
As a partner in progress, BIBD has always been committed to complementing the government’s efforts towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035.
This campaign also supports the nation’s drive to transform into a Smart Nation through the Digital Economy Masterplan 2025, as well as Brunei Darussalam Central Bank’s Financial Sector Blueprint.
