Bank Indonesia Predicts December Inflation at 0.44 Percent

TEMPO.COJakarta – Bank Indonesia predicted that the inflation rate in December 2022 will reach 0.44 percent compared to last month (month-to-month).

Executive Director of Chief of Communication Division of Bank Indonesia Erwin Haryono said that the prediction was based on the Price Monitoring Survey conducted on the third week of December 2022.

“The main commodity that contributes to December 2022 inflation until the second week is eggs with 0.07 percent [month-to-month], and rice, tomato, and gold each with 0.03 percent [month-to-month],” Erwin said in an official statement on Friday, December 16, 2022.

In addition, drinking water tariff, gas, and air transportation also contributed to the inflation rate for December 2022, with 0.01 percent each (mtm).

Meanwhile, a number commodities that contributes to deflation for the period are red pepper and shallot with a deflation rate of 0.01 percent each (mtm).
