ASEAN regulators discuss bond and fund standards, sustainable finance taxonomy
The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia said Wednesday that ASEAN regulators had received updates on regional standards for sustainability-linked bonds as well as sustainable and responsible funds.
In a statement, the Cambodian regulator said a meeting of deputies from the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) on Tuesday had also been updated on regional taxonomy for sustainable finance.
“The meeting was organised for the purpose of monitoring the progress of the work and endorsing the tasks under ACMF,” the statement said.
Deputies also discussed ASEAN collective investment schemes — including harmonised disclosure standards — and corporate governance, notably revised timelines for a regional scorecard and research project updates involving Spain’s IESE Business School.
They also discussed collaborating with the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Paris-based club of rich countries, and professional mobility.
The statement said the meeting attracted 88 participants from all 10 ASEAN members, the Asian Development Bank, the ASEAN Secretariat and the Sustainable Finance Institute of Asia.
It was chaired by Dr Vin Pheakdey, deputy director general of the Cambodian regulator and current head of the AMFC secretariat. Sao Da – AKP
