Malaysia seeks sea Link
Malaysia has proposed to Thailand a linkage between a deep sea port in Thailand’s Songkhla province and an international port in Malaysia’s Penang in order to shorten export time, said Thai Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak.
A discussion on the proposal was held between Somkid and Malaysia’s second Finance Minister Johari Abdul Ghani yesterday, aimed at closer economic cooperation .
The Malaysian minister was interested in the development of the Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and Rubber City in Songkhla province.
Today, the visiting delegation will meet with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and the Industry Minister.
