Brunei is the 115th cheapest country to buy 1GB of mobile data
Brunei ranked 115th in the list of countries offering the cheapest average price of 1GB mobile internet data among 230 countries, according to UK-based broadband comparison site Cable.
Data published by the site shows that the sultanate offers 1GB of mobile internet data for an average price of USD5.25, with the cheapest package costing about USD2.29 ($3.10).
Brunei’s most expensive package, according to the site cost about USD14.81 ($20). Cable’s data was published after measuring 9 samples which were collected in November 6 last year.
The country’s average price however is the 6th most expensive in Asia, at least among 27 Asian countries listed in the data.
South Korea however topped the list for Asia, with an average price of USD15.12 – its cheapest however goes from USD0.47 and most expensive is capped at USD34.02. South Korea ranked the 201st in the overall list.
Topping the cheapest list for Asia and overall is India, with an average cost of USD0.26 per 1GB of mobile data.
Additionally, the most expensive country to buy mobile data is Zimbabwe, with an average of USD75.20 per 1GB – 289 times the average cost in India.
The list was compiled after measuring 6,313 mobile data plans in 230 countries between October 23 and November 28 last year. It can be obtained here.
