Tuesday, August 2, 2016 – SEVERAL entrepreneurs and consumers have criticised some grocery stores and supermarkets which used misleading pricing tactics that confused shoppers into thinking they were buying discounted products. Restaurant owners and consumers interviewed by The Brunei Times said some of these retailers have increased their prices during the festive season and misled consumers into believing they were buying “cheaper” items. A restaurateur in the capital said one of the supermarkets in Kiulap last month put up an advertisement of “While stock last” on its corned beef which it claims is being sold at a “discounted” price of $4.30 per tin. But he said it was priced at $3.99 per tin in June as he used the same brand to serve to his customers. Read More?
