Myanmar: Govt drafts labour law for foreign workers
Wednesday, 27 July 2016 – The government is drafting a foreign labour law to govern the growing number of international workers seeking opportunity in Myanmar, parliament heard yesterday.
U Thein Swe, the minister of labour, immigration and population, said the law will include rules for foreign workers and international investments.
He was responding to a question from Daw Khin Ma Gyi, from Constituency 8 in Kachin State, at the second regular meeting of the second Amyotha Hluttaw, on July 26.
Daw Khin Ma Gyi asked about the laws governing foreign workers in Myanmar, and whether or not foreigners had to pay taxes. Read More?
