Indonesia – Rudiantara: Deadline for Prepaid Card Registration Not Changed
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Minister of Communications and Informatics Rudiantara asserted there is no revision on the Ministerial Decree No. 12/2016 on the registration of telecommunication users which is due on May 1, 2018. “No changes in the policy on the registration of prepaid phone card,” he said in Jakarta, Friday, April 27.
Thus, Rudiantara appealed the people to immediately register their prepaid phone number before the total blockade issued. The Home Affairs Ministry’s Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dukcapil) will then able to collect the real data in accordance with the operator service by the middle of May this year.
The blocking includes the short message (SMS), call, and internet service as stipulated in the Decree of Indonesia Telecommunication Regulatory Board No. 1/2018 on the instruction of prepaid cellular phone number.
However, the customer who experienced the blocking could register the prepaid phone number via SMS to 4444 or contact the provider service center while the number still in the active period. By the registration, all the service will be returned to normal.
