Indonesia: Xmas Holiday, Non-Subsidized Fuel Consumption Rises by 10 Percent
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – State oil and gas company Pertamina recorded an increase in the consumption of non-subsidized fuels by 10 percent during the Christmas and New Year holiday season.
“Consumers’ interest in quality fuels is reflected by the increasing consumption of non-subsidized fuels, such as Pertalite, Pertamax, Dexlite, and Pertamina Dex,” Pertamina spokesperson Adiatma Sardjito said in a press release in Jakarta on Monday, December 25, 2017.
Adiatma explained the distribution of Pertalite increased significantly by about 43 percent or 49,000 kiloliters when compared to last year. Compared to regular days, the distribution of Pertalite increased by 9 percent during the period of December 18-24, 2017.
The distribution of Pertamax fuel reached more than 17,000 kiloliters or by about 20 percent when compared to last year. The distribution increased by 9 percent when compared to that during regular days.
Aditama added that the consumption of non-subsidized diesel fuel Pertamina Dex reached 570 kiloliters per day, increasing by 17 percent when compaed to last year. The consumption increased by 8.7 percent when compared to regular days at 531 kiloliters per day.
The highest rise occurred in the distribution of Dexlite at 1,900 kiloliters per day, increasing by 156.1 percent when compared to last year. Compared to normal days at 1,600 kiloliters per day, the consumption during this year’s holiday season increased by 17 percent.
