Cambodia: Thai trade MoU doesn’t need parliamentary OK
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) to encourage transborder trade between Thailand and Cambodia has been ruled exempt from Thai parliamentary approval by Thailand’s Constitutional Court.
The MoU was initially scheduled to go into effect on November 13, but was postponed due to Thailand’s new customs laws. Bilateral trade between Cambodia and Thailand reached $5.6 billion in 2016, with Thailand’s exports to the Kingdom as high as $4.7 billion.
