Indonesia – BI: Inflation Rate on Third Week of December Reaches 0.42 Percent

TEMPO.CO, Bali – Central bank Bank Indonesia Governor Agus Martowardojo projected inflationrate up to the third week of December 2017 will reach 0.42 percent.

On the third week of December, the inflation rate is about 0.42 percent,” Agus said in Bali on Saturday, December 23.

Agus said that the inflation rate in this period is attributed to the rise of food prices including eggs and chili.

Previously, Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that inflation rate in November 2017 was 0.20 percenttriggered by the rise of food prices such as chili, shallots and rice.

In summary, the inflation rate of January-November 2017 reaches 2.87 percent and yearly inflation (year on year) reaches 3.3 percent.

Inflation rate throughout 2017 is still below the government’s estimation as laid out in 2017 Revised State Budget (APBNP) as much as 4.3 percent.
