IMF keeps 4.8% growth forecast for ASEAN amid Brexit uncertainty

Wednesday, July 20, 2016 – THE International Monetary Fund (IMF) maintained its 4.8 per cent growth forecast for the major five ASEAN economies albeit uncertainties presented by Britain?s decision to leave the European Union. In its latest World Economic Outlook Update (WEO) issued yesterday, IMF forecasts ASEAN-5, which comprises of Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam, to grow by 4.8 per cent in 2016 and 5.1 per cent in 2017.
