Vietnam: Germany’s state of Thuringen supports signing of EVFTA
Thuringen is expected to serve as a bridge for Vietnamese enterprises to access the European market, and form a comprehensive and sustainable partnership with Vietnam, Ramelow said in a meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on April 8.
Ramelow informed his visit was accompanied with the record high number of Thuringen’s enterprises, of which many expressed interest in committing long-term businesses in Vietnam.
Over the past few years, the relations between Vietnam and Germany in general, and Vietnam and Thuringen in particular, have grown strongly, while the Vietnamese community in the Germany state has well integrated into the local environment, Ramelow added.
Meanwhile, with strong educational facilities, Thuringen could be an ideal vocational training destination for Vietnamese youth, especially for those seeking working opportunities in Germany.
PM Phuc said as Vietnam and Germany have formed a strategic partnership, the relations between Vietnam and German states prove essential.
The relationship between the two countries should not focus only on economy, but also education, training and other aspects, Phuc stated, adding Vietnamese provinces and cities want to enhance cooperation with European countries, including Germany.
Phuc expected the launch of German House project in Ho Chi Minh City would create favorable conditions for stronger cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, Vietnam gives strong priority to its strategic partnership with Germany, and is willing to listen to recommendations from German enterprises to improve its business environment.
Phuc also requested more German investments in fields of automobile, electronics industry, food processing, and tourism among others.
Phuc strongly believed the cooperation between Thuringen and Vietnamese provinces would open a new chapter in the cooperation between Vietnam and Germany.
