Thailand: Push for cross-border trade

Noriaki Goto, Krungsri President and CEO; Makoto Kobayashi, BTMU Managing Executive Officer and head of Financial Solutions Group; and Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary General of the Board of Investment recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in support of cross-border trades by Thai operators wishing to invest abroad as well as Japanese operators wishing to invest in Thailand.

Under the MOU, investment activities will be jointly held to foster prolific growth.

This is part of the government’s policy to promote Japanese investment in Thailand, especially in business matching between Thai and Japanese firms. It also aims to attract interest in the Special Economic Zone and Eastern Economic Corridor under Thailand’s 4.0 strategy, Duangjai said.
