Thai investors are confident in Myanmar’s economy
At the recent Myanmar Insight 2017 held in Bangkok, senior Thai and Myanmar officials joined leading businessmen and investors to exchange views on prospects of investing in Myanmar.
The seminar was organised by the Thai Embassy in Yangon to build network and matching between potential Thai and Myanmar investors.
In his key-note speech, Deputy Foreign Minister Virasak Footrakul reiterated that Thailand and Myanmar have excellent relations and their businessmen also trust one another. He also said that the Thai investors also have good information of the economic environment in Myanmar.
Virasak, a former envoy to Myanmar, pointed out that the people there also have positive attitude toward the Thai consumer products.
The Thai-Myanmar relations have been strengthened in the past few years. Many connectivity projects were jointly planned both bilaterally and within sub-regional frameworks.
The Myanmar delegation was headed by Vice Minister of Commerce, Aung Thoo as well as other senior officials.
