Thai and Indonesian central banks sign digital payments deal
Veerathai Santiprabhob, governor of the Bank of Thailand (right), and Perry Warjiyo, governor of Bank Indonesia, have signed a deal on payment systems and financial innovation on Thursday in Chiang Rai.
The agreement aims to promote closer cooperation between the two central banks in digital innovation in payments and financial services, cross-border payments and supervision of payment systems. They said it would help advance bilateral financial development and integration, leading to sustainable economic growth in Indonesia and Thailand.
The signing took place at the 23rd Asean finance ministers’ conference in Chiang Rai, being held from April 2-5.
