Myanmar: Pearl income stays strong despite sales drop
Wednesday, 29 June 2016 – Income from pearls sales at the 53rd Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Exhibition is holding steady, organisers say, despite a fall in the number of pearls sold.
Ministry of Mines deputy director U Than Zaw Oo said on June 27, “Although the number of pairs of sold pearls has decreased, the value is down by only 140,000 euros [US$154,994]. We are satisfied with both sales and income this year.” Read More?
