Myanmar Extended International Flight Ban until August 31
The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) has extended the Period of Temporary Measures to Prevent Importation of COVID-19 August 31 meaning all the international flights to and from Myanmar will remain suspended.
However, transport flights, relief flights, and special flights with the approval from the Department of Civil Aviation are allowed to land in Myanmar.
The flight crews will be monitored and quarantined in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Health and Sports.
Myanmar has imposed the restrictions on air services to and from Yangon since March 30.
Myanmar Airways International announced that it will operate special relief flights to Guangzhou and Seoul when permitted.
It also said that the company’s Travel Policy will be extended to all affected passengers – with free of the charge date change, rebooking, and refund request option till 31 Oct 2020. Travel vouchers will be provided for non-refundable tickets & refund T&Cs applied for normal tickets. Travel voucher is non-transferable and valid until 31 Mar 2021.
