Laos: Lao economy expected to slow further
Thursday, 7 July 2016 – Declining demand for commodities and plunging rubber prices led to the slowdown of the economy.
The economy in Laos is projected to grow at a rate of just 6.9 per cent this year which is lower than the government?s target set at 7.5 per cent annually from 2016 to 2020.
A senior economist at the National Economic Research Institute, Dr Leeber Leebouapao, told Vientiane Times yesterday (July 6) that the slowdown was linked to a number of factors including sluggish exports. Read More?
