Dara Hotels announced yesterday that their Olympia City Hotel By Dara and Toyoko Inn with Dara hotels have now been added to the Alternative State Quarantine list.

Regulations that came into force on October 18 shorten the quarantine period to three days for diplomats, officers of official cooperation projects, returning civil servants and their families, investors, local experts and  foreign experts with an invitation letter or guarantor. Other fully vaccinated travellers, both foreign and local, have to quarantine for seven days. Unvaccinated or single vaccinated visitors still have to quarantine for 14 days. Arrivals who do not book one of the above hotels are taken to one of a number of quarantine hotels without a choice, some of which allow visitors to opt out of meals and receive a partial refund.

Visitors who have not pre-booked a hotel must bring $600 in cash for three days, $1,000 for seven days or $2,000 for a two-week quarantine. All visitors need to get a visa before travelling and tourists can now apply for 30-day visas online. Other requirements are a negative PCR test, stamped by a doctor, issued no more than 72 hours before arrival in Phnom Penh and proof of at least $50,000 of medical cover bought through the Forte Insurance website and printed in colour.

The only direct flights to Cambodia are currently from Singapore, South Korea and China. Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Friday the government should consider adding Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.
