Ports Department cuts container charges
Tuesday, August 2, 2016 – THE 36 per cent reduction in the import and export laden container charges have taken effect yesterday, said the Ports Department at the Ministry of Communications.
In a statement issued yesterday, the department said the stevedorage charges accounted to shipping agents, the Load-On Load-Off charges and wharfage charges accounted to forwarders have been cut.
The department said lowering the charges is in line with its goal to grow local industries, attract foreign investments and make Muara Port competitive in BIMP-EAGA. Read More?
