Brunei: Focus on digital transformation at forum

THE annual Brunei Local Business Development (LBD) programme through the partnership of private and government entities, with the theme ‘The Next Level: How to Leverage the Digital Revolution’, will take place on September 25-26.

The forum will be held at The Empire Hotel & Country Club on September 25.

Two concurrent workshops will be held at the Radisson Hotel on September 26 on ‘Keys to Successful Digital Transformation’ and ‘Designing Powerful Customers Experiences for Businesses of the Future’.

The LBD Forum is open to 200 local business founders, owners and managers, as well as corporate executives and government officials.

It aims to help the delegates understand vital aspects of the digital revolution and fast-paced technological innovation to help them bring about better business outcomes through strategic thinking.

The forum will feature highly knowledgeable speakers from abroad who will be joined by Bruneian figures.

The sessions are designed to inform and educate, encourage creative thinking and motivate delegates with powerful real-life experiences and lessons.

Forum delegates can expect powerful insights from the accomplishments of Internet entrepreneurs, challenges and failures in the digital age, how to build the right digitalisation strategy, and how to improve profitability.

The interactive workshop will dive deep into two important strategies which are instrumental to business as the world transforms into an inevitable digital society.

Workshop 1 on ‘Keys to Successful Digital Transformation’ will be led by Robert Schaffner, a seasoned trainer who helps businesses get digitally aligned with their strategies.

Meanwhile, Workshop 2 on ‘Designing Powerful Customer Experiences for Businesses of the Future’ will be led by Santha Atmalingam, a customer experience expert with over two decades of experience.

“This year’s LBD programme is a reflection of today’s realities brought about by major shifts in technology and the breadth of innovation that comes with it. The agenda and format of discussions are developed with the objective of helping delegates understand the current digital ecosystem and in that context help them achieve the results they seek,” said GM Regional Programmes of Asia Inc Forum Andrew Dy.

According to CEO of Baiduri Bank Ti Eng Hui, “Baiduri Bank has long been an advocate and supporter of the digitisation of services particularly within the banking sector. We will continue to further develop and enhance our digital banking capabilities to meet the evolving needs of our customers and businesses. We are fully supportive of the government’s Digital Payment Roadmap for Brunei 2019-2025 which seeks to transform Brunei into a digital economy.”

The LBD programme is a platform for high-quality learning, sharing, and relationship-building for local businesses, in support of the Government’s call to support MSMEs and contribute to economic diversification towards Vision 2035.

This year’s programme is a collaborative effort among Baiduri Bank as Presenting Partner, DARe (Darussalam Enterprise) as Strategic Partner, Progresif as Industry Partner, Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata as Print and Digital Media Partners and Asia Inc Forum as Programme Convenor.
