“Ministry of Trade & Industry with the direct responsibilities of managing supporting industries has been actively implementing programs for the supporting industries development since 2016 to 2025” – The Vice Minister said. At the same time, the Ministry will support Vietnamese enterprises applying the management system to meet the requirements of the global production chain, as well as to be come suppliers for domestic and foreign customers.

Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh convinced, these series of events will bring practical opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises in the supporting industries to approach and study new trends of the market, achievements in technologies, and meeting with potential partners from Japan and international, in turn contributes significantly to the sustainable transformation of Vietnamese supporting industries.

The NEPCON Vietnam 2017 and the Vietnam Supporting Industries exhibition 2017 will take place from September 13-15 with the participation of 200 leading brands from 20 countries and regions all over the world, including: Japan, Korea, China, Singapore and Thailand.

As one of the most promising markets in ASEAN, the electronic industry in Hanoi is shining with an influx of investment and a strong support from the government. To become strong as a production base, manufacturers and assemblers would need new technologies, solutions, and business networks to empower their productivity as all eyes are turning to this part of the world.  As such, these exhibitions will be good opportunities for enterprises to exhibit modern technologies, meeting with potential customers and trading with local and foreign enterprises. According to Chief representative of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Hanoi Representative Office – Mr. Hironobu Kitagawa, in order to develop the whole industry sector and innovate production, enterprises must have deep understandings on the meaning and vital role of supporting industries to the whole value chain. “Vietnam has a potential for development in every business field. Therefore, I think that with the extensive experience Japan has accumulated, JETRO will be able to assist. We will cooperate without any hesitation whenever Vietnam has specific requests”. 

It is said that the perspective that the industrial development only focuses on specific industries has been a little bit behind the times. As characterized by Industry 4.0, from now on, it is necessary to create a new development structure that overlooks each industry and generates profit. The possibility that new business will be born from seemingly unrelated industries and the fertile ground for this, is widespread in the world. Vietnam should not miss out. 

As outlined in the Japan-Vietnam Economic Partnership Agreement (JVEPA) signed between Japan and Vietnam in 2008, in order to further strengthen Vietnam’s industrial competitiveness, the governments of both countries committed to cooperate to develop Vietnam’s supporting industries. In accordance with the agreement, JETRO has been organizing supporting industries exhibitions on a regular basis in Hanoi and HCMC, as well as holding business-matching exhibition in order to increase the local procurement rate of Japanese companies in Vietnam. 

In the 7th Vietnam-Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition, there will be a total of 80 exhibitors including 40 Japanese buyers and 40 Vietnamese suppliers. Japanese exhibitors will be looking for potential suppliers, and Vietnamese exhibitors will be expecting successful business matching with Japanese companies.
