Thailand: June inflation down slightly from May
Inflation rose by 1.38 per cent in June compared to the same month last year, but was down slightly from May’s 1.49 per cent, the Commerce Ministry reported on Monday.
It ascribed the increase in June to a hike in energy prices but noted that the price of fresh foods dropped 1.75 per cent from May.
Overall, base inflation rose in total 0.83 per cent in June, in line with the target of between 0.8 per cent and 1.6 per cent, the ministry said.
