CLMV leaders pledge stronger cooperation
Leaders of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam (CLMV) on Saturday pledged to strengthen cooperation in a number of priority sectors.
The CLMV Summit was held on Saturday in Bangkok, bringing together high-ranking officials from each participating nation.
Hun Sen, the Cambodian Primer Minister, told reporters after the summit that the countries have agreed to work together to improve the efficiency of the CLMV cooperation mechanism and to narrow the development gap between CLMV countries and the rest of Asean.
“To achieve these objectives, we reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening cooperation,” Mr Hun Sen said.
Mr Hun Sen said that CMLV leaders have agreed to deepen cooperation in transport, trade and investment facilitation, industry, tourism, human resources, agriculture, energy, technology information and telecommunications.
