What does consumer say about BigC Vietnam suspending purchase of local garments?
“I prefer to buy from local brands only. BigC has been selling local products mostly, now if they stop selling, I will go to buy in other places…” – Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu (Tan Phu district, HCM) said to Dan Viet’s reporter.
On 3rd July, she got the information from TV and social media. She wonders why BigC decided to go against with Government’s encouragement “Vietnamese people – Vietnamese products”. “BigC belongs to foreign enterprise, but they have been running business in Vietnam, their customers are Vietnamese, even if they want to diversify products, styles and brands they should not stop selling local products completely” – Ms. Tu added.
Another customer from Tan Binh district who was choosing clothes for family Ms. Le Thi My Huong said 100% clothes of her children are made in Vietnam because of its materials, styles and reasonable prices in comparison with import products. If bigC stops selling local garments, she will buy from other places because it’s easy to find local products in the market. Ms Huong added (DanViet.vn)
Besides, Vietnamese netizen is calling to boycott BigC. “Refusing Vietnamese garments without reason, from now on I will stop shopping at bigC” – Nickname M.T said. (Kienthuc.net)
However, according to representative of BigC the suspension of orders is only temporary (within 2 weeks) to facilitate a review of its inventory and feasibility from suppliers in order to provide high quality Vietnamese products to customers.
