Laos, Thailand Extend Deadline For Lao Workers’ Status Adjustment To June
(KPL) Laos and Thailand have agreed to extend the deadline for Lao labour status adjustment from the end of March to Jun 30, 2018.
“The two ministries will continue to solve labour-related issues to ensure safe labour migration with workers accessing permanent employment and entitled to sound and just welfare treatment in Thailand,” said on Feb 26 Mr Khampheng Xaysompheng.
Laos and Thailand agreed on Monday at a bilateral meeting in Vientiane to continue promoting migrant worker cooperation.
The Lao delegation was led by Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Mr Khampheng Xaysompheng, and the Thai side was headed by Minister of Labour Adul Sangsingkeo.
Both sides spoke highly of the friendly relations and cooperation between Laos and Thailand as the two countries have signed an MoU on employment cooperation.
