Vaccination efforts need to step up to hit year-end goal

A total of 9,017 individuals received the COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar yesterday.

This brings the number of vaccinated individuals under the National Vaccination Programme to 302,258 or 66 per cent of the population, who had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, 199,576 individuals or 44 per cent of the population, completed their second dose.

The minister said while the rate is above the global average, they “still need to step up efforts to achieve the target of 80 per cent of the population” fully vaccinated before the year end.
