Cambodia: Facebook opening shops in Kingdom
Facebook announced it is launching Facebook Shops in Cambodia to make it easy for businesses to set up a single online store for customers to access on both Facebook and its subsidiary Instagram. Creating a Facebook Shop is said to be free and simple and businesses can choose the products they want to feature from their catalogue and then customise the look and feel of their virtual store with a cover image and accent colours that showcase their brand.
“Right now across the globe many small businesses are struggling, and with stores closing, more are looking to bring business online,” according to Facebook. It said Facebook Shops aims to make shopping seamless and empower anyone from a small business owner to a global brand to use Facebook apps to connect with customers.
That’s why Facebook is launching Facebook Shops and investing in features across its apps that inspire people to shop and make buying and selling online easier. “Now, people in Cambodia can find Facebook Shops on a business’ Facebook Page or Instagram profile, or discover them through stories or ads.
From there, they can browse the full collection, save products they’re interested in and place an order on the business’ website,” said Facebook. “And just like in a physical store when a shopper needs to ask someone for help, in Facebook Shops they’ll be able to message a business through WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram… get support, track deliveries and more. In the future, they’ll be able to view a business’ shop and make purchases right with a chat in WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct,” it said.
